Expert Witness Reports Preparation

At Heyes Chartered Surveyors we are experienced in acting as an expert witness and preparing expert witness reports in accordance with the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) guidance documents and the Civil Procedures Rules.

We hold the RICS Accreditation for acting as Expert Witnesses and are approved under the RICS Dispute Resolution Scheme.

The roll of an expert witness, especially within the construction and building industry, is very important within the judiciary system. The responsibility of an expert witness is to collate, write and possibly give evidence in court. Heyes Chartered Surveyors work effectively with the courts, solicitors and their clients.

Typical instructions include preparing reports for housing disrepair under Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act, preparation of reports for defective materials, preparation of reports for probate or divorce amongst others or for complex construction disputes between parties. This may also include court appearance to provide expert witness statements and represent both the claimant and defendant as a Single joint Expert.
